Part Time Assistant – Hornell Family Resource Center- Pro Action is seeking a flexible, self-directed individual to work with children and families at the Family Resource Center in Hornell.  This is a 15 hour per week position with some additional coverage as needed, some evenings and occasional weekend hours.
Responsibilities:  The FRC Assistant is responsible for assisting the Coordinator with day to day operations and providing oversight when the Coordinator is not available.  Will assist with facilitating events and activities and be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of supplies and equipment and detailed record keeping.
Qualifications: A two year degree in a related field or equivalent experience working with families and children.  Working knowledge of computer database/spreadsheet applications for record keeping..  A background check will be required.

HEAP Processor – Temporary Position – Steuben County – This position is responsible for reviewing and processing HEAP applications as well as some administrative duties for the program.
Qualifications: This position requires a high school diploma with three years of related work experience.  Must have experience in computer technology and be proficient in data entry. Reliable transportation is required.  This is a temporary position, 37.5 hours per week from October through March.

HEAP Scanner – (Temporary Position – Steuben) – Pro Action is seeking applicants for the position of Temporary HEAP Scanner, to be located at the Steuben County Office Building in Bath. This position is 37.5 hours per week from October until mid-March.
Responsibilities: Scanning back-up information for HEAP applications and performing additional administrative duties for the HEAP program.
Qualifications: Must have a High School Diploma and experience in computer technology.  Proficiency in data entry and strong organizational skills are required.

Temporary HEAP Outreach Position – Pro Action is seeking applicants for the position of Temporary HEAP OutreachResponsibilities of this position include: Travel among two Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) intake sites (Bath – Pro Action building and Hornell – Office for the Aging building) to conduct customer interviews, process applications and answer telephone inquiries as well as fill in at the County Office Buildings to do scanning and filing when needed. 
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED and related experience required.  Reliable transportation and a driver’s license meeting agency standards are required.  Training specific to the responsibilities of this position will be provided.  This is a temporary position up to 30 hours per week from approximately the first week in November, 2017 through April, 2018.

Temporary Registrar – Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking applicants for a temporary, 30-hour-per-week position in our child Care Aware® of Steuben and Schuyler Program.
Responsibilities: Assist Family Day Care and School-Age Child Care programs in Steuben and Schuyler Counties with the application process; conduct home inspections; investigate all complaints to assist child care providers i maintaining compliance with New York State child Care Regulations.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred; will consider an Associate’s Degree with equivalent experience.  Must have the ability to multi task and meet deadlines, attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, strong communication skills (in-person, telephone, written), analytical skills, be focused on solutions and be able to empower and advocate for consumers.

Registered Dietitian – Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking applicants for the full time position of Registered Dietitian within our Child Care Aware® of Steuben and Schuyler Program.  This position is 37.5 hours per week with benefits.
Responsibilities: This position is based in our Bath office and requires traveling across seven counties.  The Registered Dietitian is responsible for supporting and providing professional development opportunities related to the
Eat Well Play Hard in Child Care Setting curriculum.  The Registered Dietitian will work closely with child care center staff, parents and children to build a strong rapport that will increase their knowledge of the importance of making healthier choices.  The goal of this position is assisting in the NYS Department of Health’s strategic plan for overweight and obesity prevention while maintaining the standards of funding choices and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:  Must be a Registered Dietitian, certified with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and have experience providing nutrition education to children and adults.  Must have a valid driver’s license meeting agency standards and consistent reliable transportation and pass a criminal background check.  This position requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Part-Time Bus Driver – Hornell: Pro Action’s Head Start/Early Head Start has a part time, full year opportunity for a Bus Driver in the Hornell area.
This is at least a 15 hour per week position with additional hours as needed.  This position will begin as soon as possible.
Responsibilities: Provide transportation for infants, toddlers, preschoolers to/from school and on field trips; proper inspection/maintenance of the bus and taking the bus in for regularly scheduled maintenance.  Must comply with Head Start Performance Standards and NYS DOT 19A requirements.
Qualifications: Must meet all 19A requirements for a bus driver and have a Class B CDL with S&P endorsements.  Experience driving school bus and experience with children a plus.

Senior Community Service Employment Program: Pro Action is seeking individuals for multiple positions in Allegany, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates Counties.
This is a paid work experience for people age 55+ at $9.70 per hour for 20 hours per week.  As a participant in this program, you will be placed in a paid, part-time community service assignment to gain on-the-job experience.  You will have the opportunity to serve your community while expanding your skills and earning an income.  Various positions are available, specifically clerical positions that will expand your knowledge and skills relating to working in an office environment.  Income eligibility requirements apply under federal income guidelines and your family size.  Must live in Allegany, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben or Yates Counties.

Head Start Resource Advocate/Family Educator – Penn Yan: Join our team of caring professionals providing high quality services to families and children.  Pro Action’s Head Start Program is seeking applicants for the position or Resource Advocate/Family Educator in the Penn Yan and surrounding Yates County area.
Responsibilities: Duties of this 10 month, full time position include enrolling eligible children and families; completing home visits with program participants; providing educational activities for pregnant women, infants/toddlers, or 3-year-old children in a home based setting; as well as supporting families in goal setting and accessing additional resources, as needed.
Qualifications: A Home Based CDA is preferred.  Equivalent coursework as part of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood will be considered.  Must have excellent organizational and time management skills and flexibility.  Must have a driver’s license meeting agency standards and reliable transportation.

Head Start / Universal Pre-k Child Development Specialist:
Provide procedural support to HS/UPK classrooms located throughout Steuben County; assure compliance with agency, local, State and Federal policies/procedures and regulations; provide direct supervision of assigned management staff and indirect supervision of teaching staff; work with the program’s mental health consultants to ensure children have access to mental health supports when needed.  Minimum of master’s degree in early childhood education; additional credentials in special education preferred.  Requires experience working in a preschool classroom; using classroom observation tools and supervising.  Full time, full year position with benefits.

Part Time Opportunity – Maintenance Worker: Pro action is seeking a part-time, per-Diem Maintenance Worker.  This position will work 8 hours per week with intermittent additional hours to perform occasional mowing, unloading deliveries and covering the vacations of other maintenance staff.
Responsibilities: Duties of this position include interior and exterior custodial work and cleaning (vacuuming, mopping, shampooing carpets, etc.), emptying/maintaining trash receptacles and recycling bins, stocking and replenishing supplies, moving and arranging furniture and setting up for meetings/events. 
Qualifications:
  Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.  This job requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. and a valid driver’s license meeting agency standards.
